Frequently Asked Questions
A: Our ropes course (also called a challenge course, confidence course, or COPE course) can be summed up in three parts: initiative games, low elements, and high course elements. Initiative games are problem-solving activities (on the ground) that require brainstorming and team work. Low course elements (0-4′ high) are a little more physically challenging, but they also require cooperation, communication, and trust. High course activities are basically high adventure activities. They all require safety ropes and gear (provided onsite) and range from 25′ to 40′ off the ground.
Q: What is the minimum age requirement?
A:We recommend ages 18 and up for the ropes course.
Q: Is there a weight limit?
A: Yes, the weight limit for the ropes course is 270 pounds.
Q: Are you open in the winter?
A: Yes, we’re open year round.
Q: Is the ropes course safe?
A: Yes! Statistically speaking, it is safer to participate in a ropes course experience than it is to ride in a car or play soccer. All of our equipment can hold at least 5000 lb (it really can!) and is inspected regularly.
Q: If the ropes course is so safe, why do I have to sign a waiver?
A: We require waivers for insurance and tax purposes.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Wear comfortable clothing you can move around in. Tennis shoes are recommended. Tight clothing and sandals are discouraged. Plan for the weather. Layers are best so you can adjust to the temperature.
Q: What if the weather is stormy?
A: The ropes course runs rain or shine unless inclement weather (lightning, strong winds) become a safety concern. Dress appropriate for the weather. A light to moderate rain is seen as merely another challenge to overcome on the course, rather than a hindrance. Participants will be notified of cancellation or rescheduling.
Q: What should I bring?
A: Weather-appropriate items: jacket, sunscreen, bug spray.
Q: Do you have restrooms?
A: Yes, two. We also have an outdoor drinking fountain.
Q: If I’m on I-15, what exit do I take to get to your Provo course?
A: Exit 265, then head west. We are down by Utah Lake (not up the canyon). It’s 2 miles on the right. You can’t miss the climbing wall.
Q: Where do I park?
A: You may park in the parking lot or along Center Street. There is plenty of room to fit any number or size of vehicles along Center Street.
